Our working hours during the day will be 9:30am to 3:30pm.

What will be done?
We will be upgrading the Traffic Signals at this location. There will be upgrade to the existing traffic signals which includes excavations.

What impact will it have on me?
For the duration of the works, a temporary crossing and clear, signed diversions in place.

Please note
Some aspects of this work will be noisy, mostly the excavation of the road surface. There will also be bleepers from our vehicles when reversing, these are mandatory for health and safety reasons. We will endeavour to keep all noise to a minimum and your patience on this matter is appreciated.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Why are you doing this?
A. We are contracted to maintain the traffic signals in the city. The traffic lights at Twyford Avenue, junction Wilson Road, have been highlighted as requiring a traffic signal upgrade.

Q. What impact could the roadworks have on me?
A. Although there is no on street parking in Port Way, please be advised that any vehicle hindering or obstructing our operations will need to be moved under Portsmouth City Council (Resurfacing - Various Roads) (Temporary Prohibition of Driving, Loading and Waiting) (No.82) Order 2020.
